Lori is a Richmond-based artist whose creative journey began after graduating from James Madison University. She started her career as a visual merchandiser, working with several department stores before moving on to design and set up in-store boutiques for a major retail chain.
Her artistic path then led her to hand-painted furniture, a passion she pursued until taking a break to focus on raising her three young children, born within two years of each other.
In 2003, Lori discovered a new creative outlet in jewelry-making, which quickly evolved into a successful business that thrived for over 15 years. By 2016, her work began to expand to include vibrant, colorful acrylic paintings on canvas and paper—initially as a complement to her jewelry collection.
Lori’s paintings are characterized by bold textures and joyful color palettes. Each piece typically begins as an intuitive exploration and gradually transforms into a finished work that she hopes will bring happiness to others.
